As a communication designer rooted in sustainability, storytelling, and materiality, my work bridges personal reflection with broader ecological and social concerns. Growing up in Iran, amid a chaotic social and political environment, I developed an appreciation for order, harmony, and finding beauty in unexpected places—values that shape my design philosophy. My practice focuses on creating designs that foster connection between people, the natural world, and the stories that unite them.
At the intersection of sustainability, human emotion, and tactile engagement, my work reimagines waste materials, explores ecological interconnectedness, and addresses vulnerability through storytelling. Grounded in systems thinking, decolonizing design, and biomimicry, I emphasize slowness, sensory engagement, and meaningful narratives. Each project reflects my commitment to intentionality and care, fostering connection and responsibility through thoughtful design.
The following projects represent my journey through this lens:
1. Prompt 2 "re–": A study in reusing materials to explore ecological responsibility and community-centered design, this project reflected my commitment to sustainability and reimagined material life cycles.
2. Prompt 3: Handmade Embroidery: A tactile exploration of interconnected systems, this project combined handmade paper, wood elements, and embroidery to symbolize ecological and human relationships.
3. Prompt 4: Macro Photography and Editorial: Using macro photography and field observation, this editorial juxtaposed the intricate patterns of nature with synthetic materials, advocating for sustainable fabric design.
4. "VOYAGE" (BFA Thesis): This project explored the power of vulnerability and healing, using multimedia design to craft a narrative that challenges societal perceptions of trauma while fostering resilience and connection.
5. Omega Nutrition Inc. Rebranding: A comprehensive rebranding initiative that modernized the company’s visual identity while staying true to its core values of health and wellness. This project spanned logo design, packaging, digital presence, and marketing collateral.
My story:
Every project I undertake begins with the question: How can I create something that solves a problem while leaving a meaningful impact? This guiding principle weaves together my personal story, chosen materials, and the systems I aim to challenge or contribute to. Rooted in reflection, I draw from experiences of finding beauty in chaos, shaping designs that bring clarity, calmness, and intention to a noisy world.
I balance analog methods like embroidery with emerging technologies such as augmented reality, using touch and texture alongside digital tools to enhance connection. Grounded in theories like systems thinking, Earth Logic, and decolonization, my practice focuses on sustainability, equity, and regeneration, ensuring my designs resonate with larger conversations about care and responsibility.
Each project reflects my desire to bridge the personal and collective, creating pieces that connect people, communities, and the planet. Whether through reimagined scraps that echo circular economies or handmade paper evoking nature’s vastness, my work aims to make beauty both visible and meaningful, reminding us that thoughtful design can inspire change.
